Guest post! One Week to Skinny Jeans

One Week to Skinny Jeans

Everyone goes through it, a weekend of over-indulging in sugary cocktails and late-night snacks, or a vacation that includes too many enchiladas and margaritas. You end up feeling a little more jiggly around the middle than you prefer, and want a way to fit back into the skinniest of your skinny jeans. Here are some ways that you can make this happen without taking on unhealthy habits in the process.

First and foremost, it is important to make this your number one priority. It is only one week, so cheating is out of the question. Plan your week so that you don't have any major temptations. If this is the week of your best friend's birthday, be realistic, this might not be the best week to try out the plan. If you plan things out well, it will be no problem!

I'm sure you are wondering about what you can and cannot eat during the week, as this will make or break the plan. You don't want to feel deprived, grouchy or miserable the entire time and you don't need to feel like that! The focus is on health, and losing the jiggle in the middle, not on feeling awful. Remember to drink a lot of water every day. This will help you feel full, cleanse your system and make your skin appear radiant. Who doesn't like that?

Focus on eating healthy foods multiple times per day. Eat a healthy snack, such as an apple or some granola, when you are having a food craving. No chocolate, potato chips, or other unhealthy snacks that will zap your energy and make you crave even more unhealthy foods. Look for healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner options that you make yourself.

Choose to exercise each and every day of this week. Come on, you can do it! Choose an activity that you find to be fun and do it at a time when you are most motivated. If you are a morning person, do it first thing in the morning, even before you get your daily dose of caffeine. Exercise can include 30 minutes of high impact cardio such as running (either outdoor or on a treadmill), swimming or cycling. Go on a one hour hike that has a steadily incline that makes you feel a little burn in your booty. Choose to do one hour of yoga or join a Pilates class once or twice this week.

A combination of high impact exercises for 30 minutes is also a great way to go. Vary between lunges, jumping jacks and push-ups one day. The next day you can choose squats, dips and crunches. Just make sure to keep it going for the full 30 minutes and you will be rocking your skinny jeans in no time.
