a little over a week until insanity...

lol that title makes me laugh no I am not going to go insane well maybe... but I am going to embark on a new journey and do the beachbody program called insanity (there is a thumbnail for it in one of my left sidebars) and I start it next Monday 4/2 and I am super excited about it! I am hosting a challange with 4other girls and my hubby I think it will be the plan I get the best results from and get me ready for summer!!

I haven't been doing the best with eating the past week well my consumption of food has been awesome until dinner time rolls around then we get invited to go here or there and do stuff with people or family and it just throws everything off course.

I haven't done turbo at all and I miss it! I just get home and I am pooped but I have been going hiking almost everyday and it's not easy trails. This morning I did a 5.5mile hike and burned 1400cals! I couldn't believe how many calories I burned but we were hiking for about 2.5hours and thats what the body bugg says so I will take it! I am a little tired though cuz now I have work for 7hours and my body is tired.

Tonight hubby and I are just planning on having a romantic night in grilling some pork chops and chicken and making some steamed veggies and relaxing on the couch looking forward to some cuddle/relaxing time.

How was your weekend?

The scale is so tricky and a day of eats!!!

so yesterday I weight 172.2 and today I weighed 169.0 wtf happened over night. This proves that the scale shouldn't be the only thing that you depend on to measure your results but hey at the same time I'm not complaining. This afternoon I went on a hike it was 67 degrees with a slight breeze it felt amazing I burned 442cals not too bad!! Here are some pics I took!

Beautiful day in Az
Before my hike I started my day with some breakfast while reading blogs
449 cals 1/2cup egg beaters, 1lg egg, english muffin, 111grm pineapple, keurig mocha,  1tb brummel brown butter 1tbs jelly

190cal so yummy and keeps me full

Then i had this for a snack before I left

so I headed out for my hike then went to the grocery store. when I got home I was super hungry so I ate lunch!
392cals 3.5oz meat, cheese slice, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli burger wrapped in lettuce with a tiny bit of ketchup and mustard and a side of buffalo wheat thins (more on this later)

I hung out at home for a bit and caught up on some shows then headed to zumba!!! It was an awesome 1hr class I burned 547 calories!! after the class I was a little hungry but had to head to the store again to get some stuff that the other one didn't so I ate this

The store I went to was under renovation so nothing was in its normal spot so that really sucked so I won't be going back there for a while but then I headed home and had a shakeology for dinner

551 cals shakeology, 2tbs peanut butter, 8oz vanilla almond milk 8oz water 1 banana

So in total I burned 2815 cals today thats including my workouts and my normal living calories burned I ate 1605 so my deficit is at my goal of -1000 but I didn't eat enough. According to the body bugg if you eat 1000cals then you burn each day you will lose 2lbs a week so yes I exceeded the goal but you don't want to over do it.

All in all it was a pretty nice and relaxing day now back to the grind tomorrow a week and a half till my challenge let me know if you want that final spot!!!

weigh in and a challenge opportunity!!

Today's weigh in was not what I wanted to see but I will face the music and move on : )
172.2lbs blah it was a crappy eating weekend I am hoping one or two pounds is from water retention. Its ok though I know what I have to do to lose it and I'm ready to refocus.

Now with that refocus comes a slight change in plans. As most of you know I have been doing turbo on and off for about 2 months I completed a whole month only skipping one day lost about 9lbs then our vacation came and interrupted everything ever since then I haven't been able to get in the groove. Breakfast lunch and snacks go just fine then dinner comes around and it all goes down hill. Throw in a hubby who has been feeling the lazies and its a recipe for disaster. So what I decided to do was change it up a bit. I haven't fully given myself to turbo and I feel like I need a fresh start. So I started a

Beachbody Insanity challenge!!
Basically its a group of five ppl plus me and we dedicate the time to the workouts everyday, drink one shakeology a day and complete the program together. We all do the workouts at home but keep in touch through a fb page that I create. I can't wait!!

So far I have three ppl for sure signed up and that leaves two spots open do you think that you would like to participate?? send me an email (right side bar)if you think you would want to do it and if you are ready to get in the best shape of your life and have four other girls keep you accountable and motivated!!

I chose to do insanity this time it's 60days I know we can get it done there are no "events" that are coming up that can put a hold on it and after I stick to it consistently I am going to re do turbo and that will lead me up to our trip to California in July I'm so excited to see the results me and the other girls will have!!

So if you think you want to join or want more info send me an email quickly!!!

How was your workout today did you have a weigh in?

Guest post! One Week to Skinny Jeans

One Week to Skinny Jeans

Everyone goes through it, a weekend of over-indulging in sugary cocktails and late-night snacks, or a vacation that includes too many enchiladas and margaritas. You end up feeling a little more jiggly around the middle than you prefer, and want a way to fit back into the skinniest of your skinny jeans. Here are some ways that you can make this happen without taking on unhealthy habits in the process.

First and foremost, it is important to make this your number one priority. It is only one week, so cheating is out of the question. Plan your week so that you don't have any major temptations. If this is the week of your best friend's birthday, be realistic, this might not be the best week to try out the plan. If you plan things out well, it will be no problem!

I'm sure you are wondering about what you can and cannot eat during the week, as this will make or break the plan. You don't want to feel deprived, grouchy or miserable the entire time and you don't need to feel like that! The focus is on health, and losing the jiggle in the middle, not on feeling awful. Remember to drink a lot of water every day. This will help you feel full, cleanse your system and make your skin appear radiant. Who doesn't like that?

Focus on eating healthy foods multiple times per day. Eat a healthy snack, such as an apple or some granola, when you are having a food craving. No chocolate, potato chips, or other unhealthy snacks that will zap your energy and make you crave even more unhealthy foods. Look for healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner options that you make yourself.

Choose to exercise each and every day of this week. Come on, you can do it! Choose an activity that you find to be fun and do it at a time when you are most motivated. If you are a morning person, do it first thing in the morning, even before you get your daily dose of caffeine. Exercise can include 30 minutes of high impact cardio such as running (either outdoor or on a treadmill), swimming or cycling. Go on a one hour hike that has a steadily incline that makes you feel a little burn in your booty. Choose to do one hour of yoga or join a Pilates class once or twice this week.

A combination of high impact exercises for 30 minutes is also a great way to go. Vary between lunges, jumping jacks and push-ups one day. The next day you can choose squats, dips and crunches. Just make sure to keep it going for the full 30 minutes and you will be rocking your skinny jeans in no time.

Anniversary trip summary! (Lots of pics)

So as most you probably know hubby and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary last week! We decided to spend part of the week in sin city (las vegas) and the second half of it in a cabin that we always go to in oak creek canyon. This trip was also the inspiration and push for me to lose the weight and fit into my dress!! We had such an amazing, expensive, and fattening time. I went into the trip with full intentions to eat right and not over do it but honestly that is super hard. I feel kind of embarassed to admit it but I just didn't care what I ate while we were there don't get me wrong I didn't go crazy or anything but seriously there were very few things that you could choose that would be healthy, Now on the other had alcohol was out of control we drank so much all day everyday and I'm sure that contributed to the gain I saw on the scale when I got home.

I am someone that holds onto salt REALLY bad just looking at it makes me gain 2lbs the next day in water weight lol. No but really I do have a hard time with it so eating out is terrible when it comes to me and the scale. I never use salt at home either so that may have something to do with it. Anyway so I am an everyday weigher when I am at home and I write it on the Turbo Fire Calendar I have in the morning after my morning pee. The day we left for vegas was Monday 3/5 I weighed 165.8 that morning so when I got home that Saturday from our trip I decided to get on the scale knowing full well it wouldn't be accurate but just to see and it said... 174.2!!! Almost 10 pounds!! I almost fainted lol now I knew 9lbs in a week is super unrealistic and decided to give it a few days. This morning I saw 169.2 and I'm happy with that number of course I still have progress but I didn't do a TON of damage. It's been hard for me to get back into the swing of things but hubby's dads wedding is 6weeks from this saturday and I think I am going to buy another dress to fit into before then!!

Anyway thanks for sticking with the boring stuff now its time for pics!!!

February Reflections....

So today is the last day of Feb it's crazy how fast this month flew by! I had a lot of success this month and it may be my best month weight loss wise. Of course not all months are perfect but I think I did so well because I set a goal for myself, and it was an important goal! As some of your probably read I really wanted to fit into this dress

It is my hubby and mine anniversary on March 5th and we are headed to vegas. This dress just screams vegas to me because it is so sparkly and flashy while cute at the same time when I bought it it was no where near fitting it wouldn't even zip up! So I told myself that I would make this dress fit me for our trip it was time to take my weight loss seriously and set a goal and hit it. I am tired of always saying I would lose weight and do nothing about it. So I set mini goals for the month I claimed it to be "fast food free February and alcohol free feb" I didn't go out to eat AT ALL except on Vday and today! Pretty much the half way point and the end of the month I didn't have any alcohol until tonight  and to be honest it tasted disgusting. Granted what I had wasn't that great but still it was just blah to me. I rather would of just had a shakeology for dinner and called it a night.

Dates are important and my hubby keeps asking if I would go on one and I finally gave in and said yes reason being is because

THE DRESS FITS!!!!

It finally zipped up yesterday fully and it actually feels a little big on the sides but I'm totally fine with it. I have never set a goal for myself and actually attained it. Now some of you may be thinking that since I hit my goal I am going  to loosen the reigns on myself and eat out whenever but that is not the case at all. It was more of a celebratory dinner and we went out to sushi and I didn't even eat it all or finish the beer I got. I stuck to healthy eating the entire month besides these two occasions. I literally tracked and measured every single thing that I ate I didn't have any soda at all not that I normally do and I only skipped one workout but doubled up the day after the day I skipped it I had one shakeology a day and had two snacks along with lunch and dinner and it made a difference pairing all that up along with my body bugg made a huge difference!

I really want to be at 155 by the end of March and feel it is completely doable I am honestly terrified of what vegas has in store for me. I don't want to ruin all of this hard work I have put in but its also vegas food wise i'm not too worried its more the alchohol that I think will be a problem but I am bringing my Turbofire with me and fully intend to do the workouts while we are there. we leave monday and I am going to do my w/o here before we leave, tuesday I can spare an hour and get it done, wednesday is rest day on turbo so that's easy and thursday I can do the w/o when I get home. In reality there is no excuse not to do the w/o so I am going to do my best. I still am super nervous and even thought of bringing the scale with me to keep me on track... (obsessive much)

what would you do with a vacation like this just right around the corner?

So I bought another dress for vegas today let me know if you guys like it!
It's a size small!!!

Can't wait to see what results March will bring!!

Weigh in day and turbofire 30day progress pics!!

Last weeks weigh in: 166.8

This weeks weigh in: 164.2

Difference of: -2.6lbs!

I am finally at 30lbs lost and I have a reward to check off my list!!! A bigger loss then I was expecting especially since I was on my monthly time all last week and now. I was showing a gain through the week but somehow it changed. I think using the bodybugg has a lot to do with it. I was consistently eating around 1700 calories with the assumption that I was burning 2700 or more when in reality I normally don't so that has been a big wake up call for me.

As some of you proably have already read I finished my first 30days of TurboFire yesterday so this morning I took my measurements and progress pics:

   Day1:                                    Day30:
Weight 172.0                           Weight: 164.2 -7.8lbs
Chest: 33.75                             Chest: 32 -1.75
Hips: 40                                    Hips: 39 -1
Waist: 38.5                               Waist: 37.5 -1
Right Thigh: 23                          RT: 22.75 -.25
Left Thigh: 24                            LT: 23.5 -.5
Right Arm: 13                            RA: 12.5 -.5
Left Arm: 12.75                         LA: 12 -.75

Total loss of: 5.75inches all over
Total weight loss: 7.8lbs
 Here are my comp pics:

I swear I actually do my hair these are just taken first thing in the morning when I get out of bed! I don't notice a huge difference its mostly in face I think and a little in my butt but I'm happy with the progress I have made and I'm ready to tackle the next 60days!

I also took some comp pics from when I FIRST started this whole weight loss journey

I didn't take one today with my arms flexing

Did you take any pics from when you first started your journey???
