weigh in, first 5k, and a new routine

So I guess I got a little ahead of myself with my 10% loss last week when I weighed it said 167.4 which is my 10% mark but then when I actually had my weigh in on sunday it said 168.8. I don't know what happened because I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary but I didn't work out as much as normally would. I had to work late Thursday and Friday and normally both of those days I do a zumba class so I'm not sure if that made a difference or not but it was a little strange. I am thinking of possibly changing my weigh in day because having my weigh in on a Sunday is making me be super careful on weekends, and sometimes I will decline events just to avoid a spike in the scale the next day. I'm not looking to over indulge but I would like to keep my options open to spend time with friends and family. I know that it shouldn't be that way but my body does not do well with any kind of sodium and it holds onto it for a few days. So that always makes me nervous about going out at all. For example I'm bummed because this Saturday I am going to go have sushi with my mom, aunt, and a family friend. Now the sushi I normally choose isn't really unhealthy I don't get anything fried but the next day I can get all the way up to a 2lb increase just from the sodium. Obviously I'm not going to cancel my plans just because of a weigh in but during the week I very rarely go out and having my weigh in on Wednesday seems like it would be better for me. It also would give my body enough time to adjust from any weekend of eating out. Now changing my weigh in Has anyone changed their weigh in with ww before? How does it affect you? Should I just stick with what I'm doing now or should I go for it? I'm open to suggestions.

So I started a new workout plan and added some resistance training I found it through the nest website on the health and fitness message boards

A circuit would have an "A" day and a "B" day. ON week one you would go three times, in an A-B-A pattern. ON week two, you would go three times on a B-A-B pattern. Here's a sample A and B day:

A DAY-

Warm up 5 min recumbent bike. Then go through the circuit 3 times, completing 12-15 reps of the following (unless otherwise noted). Then, do your cardio after your circuit is complete.
Lat pull downs
Dumbbell Press
Shoulder presses
Bench dips
Bar Curls
Walking lunges
Dumbbell leg curls
Standing calf raises
Ball crunches

B DAY-
Warm up 5 min recumbent bike. Then go through the circuit 3 times, completing 12-15 reps of the following (unless otherwise noted), then do your cardio after the circuit is complete.
Incline dumbbell press
Machine Rows
Front/lateral raises (10 each)
Rope push downs
Alternating dumbbell curls
Step-ups
Seated leg curls
Seated calf raises
Crunch machine

So yesterday I did my first a day. It was actually really fun I did miss zumba but I want to get into some kind of routine besides zumba since my work schedule is going to be changing and I may not have as many nights available to where I can make it to zumba at 6:30 but I still have a gym routine to fall back on. So I did the strength training and then got on the treadmill. I have yet to complete a 5k so I decided that tonight would be the night. I got on and started with a 5min warm up and decided I would go for it and start running and see how far I could get. I got to the one mile mark and decided to keep going. I wasn't running to fast probably like 4.5speed and got to about a mile and a half and decided slow it down to a fast walk. I have never ran a full mile in my life without stopping somewhere in the middle of it so I was pretty proud of myself. I walked for a bit then decided to run some more. I put on an episode of south park and ran another full mile!!! It was so much easier having my mind distracted. I got to the end of that second mile and walked the rest of the way and ended up with this.

I couldn't believe it took me so long to complete it! I thought that I was going pretty fast  but I'm not disappointed since it was my first 5k. Now my first goal is to get it to or under 40mins. I definitely need to speed up a bit. I'm doing zumba tonight then back at the gym again tomorrow for my "b" day and another 5k. I'm hoping to at least take 1-2mins off my time and progress from there. I was super sweaty though which was nice. Almost as much as I was from zumba. These workouts are going to take up more of my time though. Normally I do zumba for an hour to an hour and 10mins and the run alone last night took me 48mins. The weights part took almost an hour too since I was getting used to the order of the routine and figuring out where everything was at. 2hours at the gym is not what I want to do. I don't mind being there to do what I need to but I would like to shorten it a bit so the only way is to get better at my runs : ) I honestly wish I could run outside but being in Az that comes with consequences because its so hot here!

Anyway so I got home last night and had about 8pts left. I bought some shrimp to make alfredo with but I wasn't sure if I wanted that or if I wanted some catfish. So I asked him and he wanted me to make some shrimp alfredo so I put some shrimp in a pan and added some garlic powder and some lemon seasonings from mrs. dash and cooked it then made some wheat spaghetti. I steamed some broccoli and mushroom caps and threw it in with the shrimp and pasta and covered it with alfredo sauce. Of course this was all measured out down to the point of making two separate pasta pans. Here is the finished product.
7pts+
its crazy to me how shrimp is so low in points for how much you eat. 3oz was only 2pts+ the spaghetti was 2pts+ for one oz and the alfedo was 3pts+ for 1/4cup. It doesn't sound like much but it filled me up and I still had one pt left over for dessert, so I had this!
3pts+
Sorry it came out kinda blurry. It is a vitatop brownie with sliced strawberries and bananas so yummy! Normally I will have one with a banana and some milk but I liked this much better!

If you are still reading thanks for sticking with me hope I didn't bore you too much and I appreciate any feedback that you can offer!!

P.s. Be on the lookout for two reviews that I will be doing on chobani yogurt and vitatops they are sending me out samples this week can't wait to do the review!!!!

New Foods

I have been trying some new foods lately to sort of spice up my diet. I ordered the ww cookbook and have tried a few recipes from there and so far they have all been good. I have made potato soup, vegetable barley soup, meatloaf and their fresh vegetable soup. Adding in new foods makes things so much more interesting and using a recipe gives me quite a bit of leftovers for lunch the next day. Usually I always just eat the same things since the points fit but adding in new recipes has been great. Everything is so easy to make and tastes so great. I also have come across vitatops. Those things are amazing!! I started eating them based off reviews on other blogs and they are the best things! I got some chocolate ones and also banana nut ones. The only down fall was that I was eating two a day and since they have so much fiber they made me gassy and a little bloated (tmi I know). I have replaced my nightly sugary desert with the chocolate muffin top type things. Has anyone tried them? If so what is your favorite?

Another new meal that I really like is a blt I know most ppl know what that is but I use two pieces of turkey bacon, put it on top of sandwich thins, with ww sliced cheese and a teaspoon of mayo and some baby spinach. Then I eat cherry tomatoes on the side. Love it!!!

New outfits

So I got some new clothes that I ordered off of Walmarts website. Every once in a while I will check out their site and see what they have for cheap or on clearance. I found a few cute items so I decided to order them. Now I hate the thought of buying clothes that I know will not fit me in a few months so what I did was order some clothes that most likely wouldn't fit me now but will in a month or two. I at least tried everything on and was suprised at some of the results. I ordered 2 pairs of jeans one shirt and two dresses and the only thing that would look good now is one of the dresses. I put up some pics of what they look like. Some I look ridiculous in but that's ok I can't wait to take pics again when it all fits : )

So this dress is my fave. When I put it on I thought it was a size medium and I was happy about that cuz it doesn't look to bad especially if I go sans undies : ) So I went tanning and I took this off and looked at the tag because it was really scratching me and noticed it said Size S 3/5!!! I couldn't believe it. Me looking semi decent in a small get the f out! But you can tell from the pics it does need some work especially the back side but I'm perfectly fine with that!!
This shirt was a surprise I actually thought it would fit and was planning on wearing it to zumba tonight. But my arms on the other hand had something else in mind. As you can see from these awful pics the shirt wasn't anywhere near fitting me. If my arms were smaller it would of been ok that's all that held it back : ( Motivation though! I really love this shirt so I can't wait to wear it and it look cute!ps sorry for the undies shot!
Now these next pair of pants confused me a little bit. They are a size 11 which most of my pants are now and they were pretty tight. I had to do the robot to get them to come up to my waist it felt like the zipper was stuck but it wouldn't go down anymore.. I got them to button obviously but it doesn't paint a pretty pic. It makes my belly button look like a crater!  I'm not someone who wears pants that button but give me muffin top though cuz I am highly embarrassed about being over weight and I don't want to make it anymore obvious. As you can see from the side these pants have some time before I fit in them nicely hopefully only another 5lbs.
So I ordered this pair knowing it wouldn't fit me yet but when I slid them up I got a little excited because they didn't give me any problems but when it came to buttoning them insta muffin top. I was confused because these are a smaller size then the pair above but gave me less issues. Why do jeans have to be so confusing and different when it comes to how they are made. Why can't a juniors 11 be the same no matter what store you go to lol.

Sorry for the weight stamp in all my pics but I want to rememeber where I was at when these were taken and I may not always blog so it's good to have for reference. Now speaking of the weight stamp that brings me to my next announcement!
This morning when I weighed in I hit my 10% loss mark with weight watchers! Now it's not my official weigh in day but I'm confident it won't change. I have workouts planned for everyday and no eating temptations coming up. I also decided I needed to start doing more stuff besides just cardio so I am starting with hip hop abs. Which yes is cardio but it's also helping me strengthen my core. Which might I add is incredibly weak. I went to get a massage and she wanted me to sit up to put stones under my back and when I layed back down I started shaking because my core was so weak. May I add that was embarrassing!! Anyway so hip hop abs: I love it Shaun T is funny, cute and keeps me entertained and makes the time go by fast. Phase one is a little on the slow side for me but I'm going to stick with it and see if I can get any results out of it then hopefully add in some strength training.

Thanks for reading this super long post!! I'll be taking pics again with those outfits once I hit 160 and see if we can see a difference!!

It makes me sad

To lose a follower. I guess someone either didn't like what they read or found me boring. What can I do to make this more interesting : ) Today was good just got home from another zumba which was awesome. I know I write about zumba a lot but My life is pretty uneventful lol I work come home change go to zumba come home eat dinner then bed then get up and do it again lol. Food wise has been a little off this week. I had a slip up last night but I'm perfectly fine with it. I went to help my mom pick up a car at the airport and on the way home it was 9 and she wanted to do dinner. Hubby worked late and he was hungry so we all went to applebees. I know they have weight watcher friendly meals but I just wasn't in the mood for a big meal. So I ordered chicken strips and fries and I enjoyed every last bit of it. I know those kind of options will not help with my journey of getting to goal but I just wanted something different. Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

things seem slow...

around the blogger world. I went through and did some clean up and stopped following a lot of blogs that either didn't interest me anymore or they were not posting very much. That has led to a lot less to read on here but it makes it boring at the same time. Oh well. Anyway The past couple of days have been good. I saw 169.4 on the scale this morning so I'm pretty excited about that got back to my pre vacation weight in less then a week!! I went to the doctor yesterday and he weighed me and asked what my goal was. I told him between 135-145 that I would look at myself at the 145 mark and make a decision from there. I want to have confidence in myself but not be stick thin at the same time. He told me that he would be happy with me only losing 5 more lbs!! That's crazy I thought to myself um no probably not but just listened to what he said. "normal" weight for my height starts at 154 and that's the highest weight. So I think 145 would be a good number. Ideally I want to look pretty in a bathing suit, I want to be in single digit pants, and I want to have my picture taken and not have to worry about what the result on the other side will be. I guess all of my reasons are superficial but I'm ok with that. I want to be healthy and have confidence and a lower weight will get me both of those.

Random question I'm 23 and I still shop in the "juniors" section. I went shopping for new work pants since my other pairs were practically falling off and giving me ugly saggy looking butt I was in 15's in juniors and I fit into 11's! I was really happy about that. They are a tiny bit snug but I would rather have a semi tight fit then an unflattering saggy butt fit. I'm not a fan of muffin top and I don't have it with these pants unless I'm wearing a tight shirt I have a baby amount sitting on top. Anyway back to my question. At what point do you make the transition from the junior section to the womens section? Or is it ok to always shop in the juniors area?? I know it's dumb I'm just curious. What area do you shop in? If still the juniors section will you ever switch to womens or do you want to stay in shape to always fit in the juniors?

Last night I was so excited to go to Zumba it is the night where I have the really good teacher so I was really looking forward to it pretty much the whole week. Then I walked in and saw the instructor from the Thursday night class!! I was so bummed!! So I figured I'm already there so I will give it a shot but last time I was not impressed. we did the warm up and it was so incredibly slow. When I go to zumba I want to get pumped up and get my heart rate up and I loved fast pace songs and dances. I had my hr monitor on and I checked it after the first two songs and it was at 90. Which is ridiculous. I wear it to the other classes and I'm normally in the 120-130 range at least by that point. I don't mean to be rude it's just upsetting. I'm not one to make a complaint to their boss but do you think it would be beneficial to the class at all? Hope everyone is having a good day!!!

Coming home

Has anyone ever seen that show? I just watched it and I couldn't stop the tears. I would really recommend anyone to watch it. It's similiar to the video that went around on youtube of soldiers coming home and doing suprise visits to thier kids and families. It's very cool. Anyway onto my real post. Did zumba again today and I'm so tired and sore. The place I do it in has carpet floors and its not the easiest to move on I think I need smooth bottom shoes or something because my legs are killing me any suggestions?? So today I took pics of all of my food to help keep track of points and to hopefully give everyone some ideas if they get stuck : )

egg white, sandwich thin and sliced cheese 7pts+ smoothie had 1orange, spinach, 1 banana 3strawberries handful of blueberries with 1/2 cup of plain yogurt 2pts+

string cheese and clementine 1pts+

3oz chicken,  2oz avocado, 1/4cup  cheese, mushrooms, tomatos, spinach, and red wine vinagrette, 10ts+
this salad was really good and it kept me full the whole day normally I have my second snack around 2hrs after lunch but today it lasted almost 4

spinach, 1/2cup black beans, 3oz ground beef, salsa, 1/4cup cheese and cut up tomato 7pts+

I went over by two pts with the cheese but this salad was delicious. Normally I'm not a salad eater but both were good today!!! Now time for bed.

Lovin Zumba

So I got on the scale this morning and it said 172.0 : ( that's almost 2 1/2lb gain. I hope that changes fast!!! I'm ready for the 160's again! I went to zumba last night so amazing. It may have been the best one I have been to. It's so much better when you know alot of the choreography you do a lot more dancing and less watching the instructor to see what he her next move is. I also went to Zumba tonight and plan on going the next three nights!!! I have to get it in as much as possible to get back down to my pre vacation weight and because next month my work schedule may change where I work more nights : ( oh well... I'm currently eating dinner which is a turkey brat (4pts+) and steamed broccoli with melted cheese (2pts+) its so yummy!! TMI ALERT! So my tom has officially reared it's ugly head and boy is it a killer one. I don't know what is happening in my nether regions but I'll have it every other month or so and when it does happen the cramps are awful! I never got cramps before or during birth control but now that I am off of it it's been so bad! I did not feel like working out at all tonight but I went for it. I'm so glad that I did and I can't wait for tomorrow! Hope everyone had a good day!

Why do vacation's always fly by

But yet the day's that lead up to them are such a drag! Well hubs and I are back from out one year anniversary trip! It was amazing and everything I could of have hoped for. Eating on the other hand I don't even want to talk about that! I tried to do the best that I could as far as food choices went and overall I'm really happy with it but my beverage choices are another story. I don't think I have consumed that much alcohol in a LONG time! I'm curious to what my weigh in will show tomorrow since we didn't take the scale with us. I'm sure I'm retaining water from all the alcohol and my time of the month is sort of here. I have been spotting and crampy but not sure what is going on. But in spite of all that whatever the scale says I'm not going to dwell on it and if it is higher then before we left I am going to do something about it and get back to where I was before we left. Which reminds me I broke into a new decade before we left. My scale read 169.4!!! I couldn't believe it. hopefully I didn't do too much damage and I am back there by the end of the week. I have zumba and 30 day shred planned for everday along with points plus and a ton of water!!! We rebooked the cabin for July to go with my fam and I'm hoping I am at goal by then. It will be so nice to sit creekside in a bikini and feel awesome about myself!!!! Well I have a lot of things to catch up on before we go to work tomorrow here are a few pics of our trip!
